Some come to enjoy wine, build a cellar or host a memorable evening. Others come to bring a wine estate or brand to Asian markets. Both get the same care.

  • Wine masterclasses

    Vertical tastings, regional deep dives and themed evenings led by estate owners and sommeliers, with printed notes and the right glassware.

  • Wine pairing dinners

    Multi-course evenings where the menu and the wines are designed together with the chef, and service is timed course by course.

  • Wine trips

    Small groups visiting private estates, cellars and winemakers, at the source.

  • Wine procurement

    Allocation wines and rare vintages, with provenance checked before you buy.

  • Wine lists and cellar advice

    Lists for restaurants, hotels and private cellars, with supplier talks, storage advice and staff briefing.

  • Wine service training

    Service steps, regional knowledge and guest conversation for hospitality teams. We also teach how to recommend wine with confidence, offer the next bottle or a better pairing, and raise the revenue of each table.

Our name

A place to gather around wine

The agora was the open square where people met to talk, trade and argue. Wine has always been part of that. Vinagora takes its name from there: a wine marketplace where knowledge is shared, relationships are built and good evenings are made.

Vinagora is a division of Speira. Speira (σπεῖρα) was the name for the sacred fellowships of ancient Roman Portus, who gathered around wine not as refreshment, but as ritual and communion. These Dionysian circles united priests, merchants and patricians in reverence of Dionysus, god of wine. Speira revives that tradition: a modern fellowship for those who experience exceptional wine not as mere consumption, but as cultural remembrance.

Two heritages, one point of contact

European roots, Asian experience

We speak both languages, in the literal and the cultural sense. We understand why Burgundian growers guard their heritage, and how to explain it to an Asian guest.

One person, one standard

From customs clearance to glassware to speaker briefings, you deal with one contact who answers for every detail. We hold no stock of our own.

Hands on, from the cellar to the floor

Franklin has run importers, wine divisions and events himself. Logistics, service and numbers get the same attention as the wine.

What a finished project looks like

Seoul, 2025

Two days, two masterclasses, every detail

Two masterclasses of two hours each, as part of a Michelin Guide and Robert Parker Wine Advocate event. Franklin ran the project from the first idea to the last word on stage: the theme, six wines found and checked for provenance, shipping and import clearance, a speech script and booklet for each wine, a translator who knows wine, and both sessions presented in person.

The founder

Franklin Huber

Founder and Managing Director

Franklin trained as a winemaker in Burgundy, then moved to Asia in 2007 and has worked in the wine trade in Singapore, Vietnam and Indonesia ever since. He was sommelier, retail manager, on-trade sales manager and, for six years, general manager of a leading fine wine importer in Jakarta, Indonesia.

In 2020 he founded Speira and created Vinagora. Today he represents wine estates and merchants from Burgundy, Bordeaux, the Rhône and the Jura, and advises collectors and companies on how to enjoy wine well. He has trained the teams of more than 100 hospitality groups, outlets and hotels, and has taught or presented wine in France, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia, Korea and Thailand.
